Job Summary:

The Host/Hostess is the first and last point of contact for our guests, responsible for creating a welcoming and positive first impression. This role is crucial for managing the flow of the service area, ensuring guests are seated promptly and comfortably, and contributing to a seamless and enjoyable dining experience from the moment guests arrive until they depart.

Key Responsibilities:

Guest Greeting & Seating:
Warmly and professionally greet all guests upon their arrival.
Manage the reservation system, take note of walk-in guests, and accurately estimate waiting times.
Escort guests to their assigned tables, present menus, and ensure they are comfortable.
Manage the seating chart to ensure even distribution of guests among service staff for efficient service.
Front Desk Management:
Answer incoming phone calls, answer questions, and manage table reservations.
Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the host stand, lobby, and menu stock.
Bid farewell to guests, thank them for their visit, and invite them to return.
Communication & Coordination:
Effectively communicate with servers and management regarding table status, special guest requests, and potential delays.
Inform waiting guests of the status of their table and ensure they are kept informed.
Assist in managing the waiting list during peak hours.
Customer Service:
Handle guest inquiries and provide accurate information about the restaurant, menu, and specials.
Address minor guest complaints or concerns promptly and escalate serious issues to a manager.

Required Experience & Skills:

Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Host/Hostess in a fast-paced, high-quality restaurant or cafe.
Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
Excellent verbal communication skills.
Professional and well-groomed appearance.
Ability to remain calm and courteous under pressure.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency with reservation software (e.g., OpenTable, Resy) is a plus.
Ability to stand for extended periods.
