Porters (General/Maintenance)

Job Summary:

The Porter is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, order, and basic functionality of assigned facilities and grounds. This role involves a variety of manual tasks, including moving materials, setting up for events, waste removal, and light maintenance, ensuring a clean and organized environment for staff and guests.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform general cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and washing windows in common areas, lobbies, and back-of-house spaces.
Collect, transport, and properly dispose of trash and recycling from designated areas.
Assist with the setup and breakdown of furniture, equipment, and signage for events, meetings, or daily operations.
Move and deliver supplies, equipment, and furniture as directed.
Perform minor maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs, basic touch-up painting, and unclogging drains.
Maintain cleanliness and stock of public and employee restrooms.
Monitor and report any safety hazards, maintenance issues, or supply shortages to a supervisor.
Assist in receiving and storing deliveries.
May be required to perform seasonal outdoor tasks such as light snow removal, salting walkways, or clearing debris.

Qualifications & Skills:

Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting (up to 75 lbs), bending, and standing for extended periods.
Reliability, strong work ethic, and attention to detail.
Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
Basic familiarity with cleaning equipment and materials.
Good time management skills.
