Porters (General/Maintenance)
Job Summary:
The Porter is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, order, and basic functionality of assigned facilities and grounds. This role involves a variety of manual tasks, including moving materials, setting up for events, waste removal, and light maintenance, ensuring a clean and organized environment for staff and guests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform general cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and washing windows in common areas, lobbies, and back-of-house spaces.
- Collect, transport, and properly dispose of trash and recycling from designated areas.
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of furniture, equipment, and signage for events, meetings, or daily operations.
- Move and deliver supplies, equipment, and furniture as directed.
- Perform minor maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs, basic touch-up painting, and unclogging drains.
- Maintain cleanliness and stock of public and employee restrooms.
- Monitor and report any safety hazards, maintenance issues, or supply shortages to a supervisor.
- Assist in receiving and storing deliveries.
- May be required to perform seasonal outdoor tasks such as light snow removal, salting walkways, or clearing debris.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting (up to 75 lbs), bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Reliability, strong work ethic, and attention to detail.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
- Basic familiarity with cleaning equipment and materials.
- Good time management skills.
