Assistant Reservation Manager – Hotel

Reports To: Reservation Manager / Director of Revenue Management
Supervises: Reservations Supervisor, Reservation Agents
Job Summary:
The Assistant Reservation Manager provides managerial support in leading the reservations department, with a stronger focus on strategy, reporting, and system management. This role bridges operational supervision with analytical support for revenue optimization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Department Leadership: Assist the Reservation Manager in all aspects of department management, including staffing, training, and performance evaluation.
- System & Rate Management: Maintain rate codes, packages, and inventory allocations in the PMS and channel manager. Troubleshoot system issues.
- Analysis & Reporting: Prepare in-depth analyses of booking trends, source performance, and competitor pricing. Contribute to the forecasting process.
- Channel Management: Oversee the accuracy and effectiveness of all distribution channels (OTA, GDS, direct). Assist in managing relationships with key channel managers.
- Process Improvement: Develop and update reservations SOPs. Implement new technologies or processes to enhance efficiency and guest experience.
- Group & Group Blocks: Manage the coordination and details of group room blocks in conjunction with the sales department.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum 4-5 years in hotel reservations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory/leadership role.
- Advanced knowledge of Opera PMS, channel managers, and GDS. Strong Excel skills for reporting.
- Understanding of basic revenue management principles (yield management, pricing).
- Proven leadership ability and excellent analytical skills.
- Strategic thinker with strong organizational and communication skills.
