WAITER / SERVER
Position Summary:
The Waiter (Server) is the primary point of contact for guests in the dining area, responsible for delivering an exceptional and seamless dining experience. This role involves guiding guests through the menu, ensuring accurate order taking and timely delivery of food and beverages, and providing attentive, personalized service throughout the meal. The server acts as an ambassador for the establishment, enhancing guest satisfaction and encouraging return business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet guests warmly, present menus, and introduce specials in an engaging manner.
- Possess in-depth knowledge of the menu, including ingredients, preparation methods, and allergens, to make informed recommendations and answer questions.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders, entering them into the point-of-sale (POS) system correctly.
- Serve food and drinks from the kitchen and bar to guests in a timely and professional manner, ensuring order accuracy.
- Monitor guest tables throughout the meal, anticipating needs (refills, clearing plates, addressing concerns) to provide proactive service.
- Process guest payments accurately and efficiently.
- Set up, clear, and reset tables according to establishment standards.
- Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff, bartenders, and other servers to ensure smooth service flow.
- Adhere to all food safety, sanitation, and alcohol service regulations.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Previous experience in a customer-facing role, preferably in a restaurant or hospitality setting.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure team environment.
- Positive attitude, professional appearance, and a strong customer-focused mentality.
- Physical stamina to remain on feet for extended periods and carry trays.
- Basic math skills for handling cash and processing payments.
- Ability to memorize menu details and daily specials.
