Mid-Level Systems Operator
Job Summary:
The Mid-Level Systems Operator is responsible for the continuous monitoring, control, and first-line support of critical building management systems (BMS), energy management systems (EMS), and other integrated facility platforms. This role operates from a central control room, ensuring optimal performance and rapid response to alarms or irregularities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor BMS/EMS, SCADA, and other operational systems 24/7 (as per shift schedule) for alarms, failures, or deviations from set parameters.
- Perform routine system checks and log all activities, incidents, and actions taken in the shift log.
- Respond to and diagnose system alarms, escalating issues to relevant engineers or supervisors as per escalation procedures.
- Execute standard operational controls (e.g., starting/stopping HVAC plants, adjusting lighting schedules) under authorization.
- Generate daily and weekly performance reports on system status and key metrics.
- Assist in the testing and commissioning of new system integrations or updates.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and secure control room environment.
- Coordinate with on-site maintenance teams to direct them to fault locations.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Associate degree or diploma in Instrumentation, Electronics, Mechatronics, or a related technical field.
- 3-4 years of experience in a control room environment, preferably within facility management, utilities, or industrial operations.
- Practical experience with BMS platforms (e.g., Siemens, Honeywell, Schneider) and SCADA systems.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Basic understanding of IT networks and MS Office applications.
