Electrical Tester
Location: Groningen, The Netherlands
About the Role:
We are seeking a meticulous and qualified Electrical Tester to join our team in Groningen. You will be responsible for ensuring the safety, functionality, and compliance of electrical installations and equipment. Your primary role involves conducting rigorous tests, inspections, and certifications in accordance with Dutch regulations and standards (NEN 3140, NEN 1010). You will play a critical role in preventative maintenance and risk mitigation, ensuring all systems operate safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform periodic testing, inspection, and certification of electrical installations, tools, machinery, and portable appliances.
- Conduct visual inspections and measurement tests (e.g., insulation resistance, earth continuity, loop impedance, RCD/GFCI operation) using specialized diagnostic equipment.
- Accurately interpret electrical diagrams, schematics, and installation plans.
- Compile detailed inspection reports, test certificates, and mandatory documentation in line with NEN 3140 and other relevant standards.
- Identify faults, defects, and potential safety hazards. Provide clear recommendations for repairs and corrective actions.
- Collaborate with electricians, project managers, and facility teams to schedule and prioritize testing activities.
- Stay fully updated on changes to Dutch legislation, NEN norms, and health & safety protocols (Arbobesluit).
- Maintain and calibrate testing equipment to ensure accuracy.
- Advise on electrical safety protocols and best practices within the organization.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Electrical Tester, Inspection Technician, or similar role.
- Formal qualification (MBO-4 level or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Mandatory certification: NEN 3140 (Operation of Electrical Installations) and NEN 1010 knowledge. A VPU (Veiligheidsprocedure voor Utiliteitsbouw) certification is highly desirable.
- Valid driving license (B).
- In-depth knowledge of Dutch electrical safety laws, NEN norms, and the Arbeidsomstandighedenbesluit.
- Proficiency with electrical testing instruments (multimeters, insulation testers, earth testers, RCD testers).
- Strong analytical skills and an impeccable eye for detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage your own schedule.
- Excellent reporting and communication skills in Dutch; English is a plus.
- Physically able to work in various environments (construction sites, industrial plants, commercial buildings).
