Order Taker

Position: Order Taker

Department: Food & Beverage / Call Center

Number of Openings: 10

Reports To: F&B Manager / In-Room Dining Manager

Job Summary:

We are looking for professional and articulate Order Takers to manage guest orders via telephone. You will be the primary point of contact for in-room dining and other services, ensuring that every order is taken accurately, processed efficiently, and delivered with a positive attitude to enhance the guest experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Order Processing: Answer incoming calls promptly and courteously, taking food and beverage orders for in-room dining or other outlets with a high degree of accuracy.
Menu Knowledge: Develop and maintain an excellent knowledge of the menu, including daily specials, portion sizes, ingredients, and preparation methods to answer guest questions and make recommendations.
Upselling: Proactively suggest appetizers, desserts, or beverages to enhance the guest's meal and increase revenue.
System Input: Accurately enter all orders into the Point of Sale (POS) system, ensuring special requests (e.g., no onions, extra sauce) are clearly communicated to the kitchen.
Communication: Liaise effectively with the kitchen and delivery staff to ensure timely preparation and pickup of orders.
Guest Inquiries: Handle guest inquiries regarding billing, delivery times, or hotel services in a patient and helpful manner. Resolve minor complaints or escalate issues to a manager when necessary.
Accuracy and Follow-up: Double-check orders for accuracy before finalizing. Follow up on delayed orders to ensure guest satisfaction.
Coordination: Work closely with the service team to ensure a smooth and efficient operation.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Experience: Previous experience in a call center, customer service, or food & beverage role is highly preferred.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal communication skills in English are essential. Additional languages (e.g., Russian, Arabic, Mandarin) are a significant advantage.
Computer Skills: Basic computer literacy and comfort using a POS system or similar software for order entry.
Personality: Must be friendly, patient, and able to remain calm and professional under pressure, especially during peak meal times. A positive and helpful attitude is a must.
Multitasking: Ability to handle multiple incoming calls and manage several orders simultaneously without losing focus or accuracy.
Work Schedule: Must be available to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays, based on shift patterns.
