Job Summary
The Commi Chef will support the kitchen team in preparing high-quality Italian dishes while ensuring consistency, hygiene, and efficiency in daily kitchen operations. This role is ideal for candidates who are passionate about culinary arts and eager to grow within a professional hospitality environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing ingredients including chopping, slicing, marinating, and portioning.
- Prepare sauces, pasta, pizzas, and other Italian specialties under the guidance of senior chefs.
- Ensure mise en place is ready before service.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations at all times.
- Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation standards.
- Monitor food stock levels and inform senior chefs about shortages.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
- Support kitchen team during peak service hours.
Requirements
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a restaurant kitchen (Italian cuisine preferred).
- Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment.
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Team-oriented attitude and willingness to learn.
