Job Title: Procurement Officer
Job Summary
The Procurement Officer is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing goods and services required by the organization. This role ensures cost-effectiveness, quality, and timely delivery while maintaining strong relationships with suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and evaluate suppliers, vendors, and service providers
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms of purchase
- Prepare and process purchase orders and procurement documents
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with internal departments
- Ensure timely delivery of goods and services
- Maintain supplier relationships and performance evaluations
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procurement regulations
- Track and manage procurement budgets and cost savings
- Handle vendor issues, discrepancies, and disputes
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and invoices
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field
- Proven experience in procurement or purchasing roles
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Knowledge of procurement processes and supply chain principles
- Proficiency in tools like SAP, Oracle Procurement Cloud, or Microsoft Excel
- Good analytical and financial management skills
- Attention to detail and organizational ability
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in procurement (e.g., CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply))
- Experience in the relevant industry (construction, manufacturing, healthcare, etc.)
- Knowledge of contract law and vendor management
Work Environment
- Typically office-based, with occasional supplier visits
- May involve handling multiple vendors and deadlines
