Job Title: Senior Planning & Cost Control Engineer
Job Summary
The Senior Planning & Cost Control Engineer is responsible for developing, monitoring, and controlling project schedules and costs to ensure timely and budget-compliant project delivery. This role involves close coordination with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders to track progress, analyze variances, and implement corrective actions.
Key Responsibilities
Planning & Scheduling
- Develop detailed project schedules using tools such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project
- Define project scope, milestones, deliverables, and critical path
- Prepare baseline schedules and update them regularly
- Monitor project progress and identify potential delays
Cost Control
- Develop and manage project budgets and cost forecasts
- Track actual costs vs. planned costs and analyze variances
- Prepare cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and financial summaries
- Ensure cost efficiency and recommend corrective actions when necessary
Progress Monitoring & Reporting
- Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports
- Conduct earned value analysis (EVA)
- Monitor KPI performance related to schedule and cost
- Present findings to senior management and stakeholders
Risk Management
- Identify project risks related to schedule and cost
- Develop mitigation strategies and contingency plans
- Perform delay analysis and impact assessments
Coordination & Communication
- Liaise with project managers, engineers, procurement, and contractors
- Support contract administration and claims management
- Participate in project meetings and provide planning insights
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or related field)
- 8–15 years of experience in planning and cost control
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies
- Proficiency in scheduling and cost tools (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Excel)
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP
