Role Overview
An Accountant is responsible for managing financial records, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and supporting the organization’s financial health. The role involves bookkeeping, compliance, budgeting, and assisting in financial decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
📊 Financial Record Keeping
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
- Record daily transactions (sales, purchases, receipts, payments)
- Manage general ledger entries and reconciliations
💰 Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Process invoices, payments, and collections
- Monitor outstanding receivables and follow up on dues
- Reconcile vendor and customer accounts
🧾 Financial Reporting
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Generate profit & loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting
🏦 Bank & Tax Reconciliation
- Perform bank reconciliations regularly
- Ensure proper tax calculations and filings (GST, income tax, etc.)
- Support audits and liaise with auditors
📋 Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies
- Maintain proper documentation for all financial transactions
- Assist in internal and external audits
📈 Cost Control & Analysis
- Monitor expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities
- Analyze financial data to support business decisions
Requirements & Qualifications
🎓 Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce (B.Com)
- Professional certifications (e.g., CA Inter, CMA, ACCA) are an advantage
💼 Experience
- Typically 1–5 years of accounting experience
🧠 Technical Skills
- Knowledge of accounting principles and standards
- Experience with accounting software (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks, SAP)
- Proficiency in MS Excel
