Reports To: Finance Manager / Chief Accountant
Job Summary
An Accounting Executive is responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Record and maintain financial transactions in accounting systems.
- Prepare and process invoices, payments, receipts, and journal entries.
- Reconcile bank statements, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Monitor cash flow and maintain accurate financial records.
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and statutory requirements.
- Assist with audits by providing required documentation and reports.
- Maintain fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules.
- Liaise with vendors, customers, and internal departments regarding financial matters.
- Identify and implement improvements in accounting processes and controls.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 1–5 years of experience in accounting or finance (depending on the role level).
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, Tally, or Xero).
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Good analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certification such as ACCA, CPA, CIMA, or equivalent.
- Experience with tax filing and statutory compliance.
- Knowledge of ERP systems and financial management software.
