Job Description: Team Supervisor – Accounts Operations
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Team Supervisor – Accounts Operations to oversee day-to-day accounting activities, supervise the accounts operations team, and ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial processing.
The role involves coordinating accounting transactions, reviewing team output, resolving operational issues, supporting month-end closing, and maintaining strong internal controls and process discipline.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage the day-to-day activities of the Accounts Operations team.
- Allocate workloads, monitor productivity, and ensure timely completion of accounting tasks.
- Review and approve accounting entries, invoices, reconciliations, payments, and related transactions.
- Ensure accurate processing of accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and other accounting operations.
- Coordinate month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Perform and review bank, vendor, customer, and ledger reconciliations.
- Monitor outstanding receivables, payables, and other financial transactions.
- Ensure compliance with company accounting policies, statutory requirements, and internal controls.
- Identify process gaps and implement improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and operational issues.
- Prepare operational reports, MIS, and performance reports for management.
- Coordinate with internal departments, auditors, vendors, customers, and other stakeholders as required.
- Train, coach, and support team members to improve technical knowledge and performance.
- Monitor team KPIs, quality, turnaround time, and adherence to defined processes.
- Maintain proper documentation and ensure audit readiness.
- Support management with accounting-related analysis and ad hoc assignments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
- Professional accounting qualification such as CA, CMA, ACCA, or equivalent is an advantage.
- Typically 4–7 years of relevant accounting/finance experience, including supervisory or team-handling experience.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial operations.
- Experience with ERP/accounting systems such as SAP, Oracle, Tally, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar platforms.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and financial reporting.
