Site Engineer — Job Description
Job Summary:
The Site Engineer is responsible for supervising and coordinating day-to-day site activities to ensure that construction or engineering work is completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and according to approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily construction and engineering activities at the project site.
- Ensure work is carried out according to approved drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
- Coordinate with project managers, contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and site workers.
- Monitor manpower, materials, tools, and equipment at the site.
- Conduct regular site inspections and identify technical or construction issues.
- Check dimensions, levels, quantities, and quality of completed work.
- Interpret and explain technical drawings and specifications to site teams.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly site progress reports.
- Maintain site records, measurements, material records, and work documentation.
- Coordinate material deliveries and ensure proper storage and usage.
- Monitor project progress against the construction schedule.
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures and applicable regulations.
- Identify delays, defects, or site problems and coordinate corrective actions.
- Assist with quantity measurements, material estimates, and project cost tracking.
- Coordinate testing, inspections, snagging, and final handover activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or a relevant engineering discipline.
- Previous site/construction experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of engineering drawings, specifications, and construction practices.
- Proficiency in MS Office and relevant engineering/design software.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and quality procedures.
