Site Engineer – Job Description
We are looking for a qualified and experienced Site Engineer to supervise and coordinate construction and fit-out activities at project sites. The Site Engineer will ensure that work is executed according to approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and project schedules while coordinating effectively with contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily site construction and fit-out activities.
- Review and interpret architectural, structural, MEP, and technical drawings.
- Ensure site work is executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and method statements.
- Plan daily activities and coordinate manpower, materials, tools, and equipment.
- Monitor project progress and ensure activities are completed according to the approved schedule.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and project teams.
- Inspect completed and ongoing works to ensure quality and compliance with project requirements.
- Check dimensions, levels, alignment, quantities, and workmanship.
- Identify technical issues, site constraints, and deviations and coordinate corrective actions.
- Raise and follow up on RFIs, inspection requests, material approvals, and technical queries.
- Coordinate civil, architectural, interior, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing works to avoid site clashes and delays.
- Monitor material usage and coordinate material requirements with procurement and stores teams.
- Maintain daily site reports, progress records, manpower reports, inspection records, and other project documentation.
- Assist with quantity measurements, material take-offs, and work completion records.
- Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure compliance with project specifications and schedules.
- Coordinate inspections, testing, commissioning, snagging, and rectification works.
- Ensure all activities comply with approved HSE procedures and safe working practices.
- Ensure proper housekeeping and maintain an organized work area.
- Attend site meetings and provide progress and technical updates to the Project Manager.
- Assist in preparing as-built drawings, handover documents, and project close-out records.
- Support the Project Manager in resolving technical, commercial, and operational issues.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Project Manager or Site Manager.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a relevant discipline.
- 3–7 years of relevant site engineering experience in construction, fit-out, MEP, or industrial projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction/site execution practices.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering, architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
- Experience in coordinating subcontractors, consultants, suppliers, and site teams.
- Good understanding of construction materials, methods, quality standards, and HSE requirements.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and relevant project documentation tools.
- Knowledge of MS Project or Primavera P6 is an advantage.
- Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
- Willingness to work at project sites and travel when required.
