Job Title: Team Leader – Foreign Trade (Operations Group)
📍 Location: Mashreq Bank, Qatar
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Team Leader – Foreign Trade to join the Operations Group at Mashreq Bank, Qatar Branch. The successful candidate will oversee and manage the daily operations of trade finance activities, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and full compliance with bank policies and international trade regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise the Foreign Trade Operations team to ensure timely and accurate processing of all trade finance transactions (LCs, LGs, collections, etc.).
- Ensure adherence to UCP, URC, ISP, and ICC rules as well as bank and regulatory policies.
- Review, authorize, and monitor trade-related transactions to ensure accuracy and risk compliance.
- Provide guidance and support to team members, ensuring continuous improvement in productivity and quality.
- Liaise with relationship managers, corporate clients, and correspondent banks to resolve trade-related queries.
- Maintain high operational standards and ensure all documentation meets internal and external compliance requirements.
- Assist in system enhancements, process automation, and risk mitigation initiatives.
- Prepare operational reports and participate in internal and external audits.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Banking, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5–7 years of experience in Trade Finance Operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or team leader role.
- Strong knowledge of documentary credits, guarantees, collections, and international trade practices.
- Familiarity with SWIFT, AML/KYC, and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
- Proficient in MS Office and core banking systems.
- Candidates must currently be based in the UAE or Qatar (preferred).
