Job Title: Laboratory Technician / Medical Lab Technician (MLT)

Detailed Job Description:
A Laboratory Technician performs a variety of routine and complex diagnostic tests on patient specimens (blood, body fluids, tissues, etc.) to provide critical data for the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases. They work with sophisticated automated analyzers and manual techniques to deliver accurate and timely results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform analytical tests in one or more major sections of the clinical laboratory: Hematology, Clinical Chemistry, Microbiology, Blood Bank/Immunohematology, Immunology, and Urinalysis.
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain sophisticated laboratory instruments and equipment.
- Prepare specimens for analysis, ensuring proper identification and sample integrity.
- Analyze test results for accuracy and validity, identifying any abnormalities or discrepancies.
- Report critical results to physicians or nurses in a timely manner as per established protocols.
- Follow strict Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) procedures, documenting all activities.
- Adhere to all laboratory safety standards, including the handling of biohazardous materials.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all tests performed in the Laboratory Information System (LIS).
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Mandatory License: Valid MOH / DHA License or Eligibility Letter.
- Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology / Biomedical Science.
- Certification: Professional licensure from a home country and/or international certification (e.g., ASCP, AMT) is highly desirable.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting. Experience with automated analyzers and LIS is required.
