Job Title: School Bus Driver
Reports To: Transport Manager / Operations Manager
Salary: AED 3,500 per month
Job Purpose:
To safely transport students to and from school and related events. The School Bus Driver is responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of students during transit, adhering to a fixed route and schedule, and maintaining the vehicle in excellent condition.
Key Responsibilities:
- Student Transportation: Safely drive the school bus along designated routes, picking up and dropping off students at scheduled stops and times.
- Student Safety: Ensure all students are safely seated and that seat belts are fastened before moving the vehicle. Enforce bus rules to maintain discipline and safety.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus (e.g., brakes, fuel, oil, tires) to ensure it is in good working order. Report any mechanical issues immediately.
- Cleanliness: Maintain a clean and sanitized bus interior.
- Route Adherence: Follow the assigned route precisely and adjust for traffic or weather conditions as needed, notifying the transport manager of any significant delays.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption, and student attendance on the bus.
- Emergency Procedures: Knowledge of and ability to execute emergency evacuation procedures. Administer basic first aid if required.
- Communication: Maintain clear and professional communication with the school, parents (via the attendant), and students.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Valid UAE Driver's License for a heavy vehicle (Bus) is mandatory.
- A clean and defensible driving record.
- Prior experience as a school bus driver or chauffeur is highly preferred.
- Excellent knowledge of traffic and road safety regulations.
- Patience, responsibility, and a caring attitude towards children.
- Ability to manage and supervise children on the bus effectively.
- Good physical health and eyesight.
- First Aid certification is an advantage.
