Job Summary
The Manager of Project Control is a critical role responsible for providing the Project Manager and senior management with accurate and timely project data to facilitate informed decision-making. You will oversee all project control functions, including planning, scheduling, cost engineering, and risk analysis, ensuring the project's financial and schedule health is constantly monitored and reported.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Planning & Scheduling: Develop, maintain, and update the integrated project schedule using Primavera P6. Monitor critical path, float, and schedule performance.
- Cost Control & Forecasting: Establish the project budget and cost breakdown structure. Track all project costs, commit values, and forecast final costs (EAC). Analyze cost variances and report on project profitability.
- Progress Measurement: Develop and implement the project's progress measurement system. Validate and report physical progress for all disciplines, particularly for piping (Inch-Dia), structural, and civil works.
- Reporting: Prepare and distribute comprehensive weekly and monthly project control reports, including S-Curves, histograms, variance analysis, and dashboard summaries for management and the client.
- Change Management: Manage the change control process, tracking all potential and approved variations/change orders and their impact on cost and schedule.
- Risk Analysis: Work with the project team to identify potential risks and opportunities, quantifying their impact and maintaining the project risk register.
- Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of planners, schedulers, and cost engineers.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Mechanical Engineering.
- Certification: Proven, advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 is mandatory.
- Experience: A minimum of 15 years in project controls within the Oil & Gas industry, specifically on plant piping projects.
Skills & Competencies
- Expert-level knowledge of Primavera P6 and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Strong understanding of Earned Value Management (EVM) principles.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, procurement documents, and construction schedules.
- Strong communication skills to effectively present complex data to project stakeholders.
