Job Summary:
The Multi Skilled Technician (MEP) performs a broad range of maintenance and repair tasks across Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) disciplines. This role provides versatile support to ensure the continuous and efficient operation of building systems with minimal reliance on specialized subcontractors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform corrective and preventive maintenance on a variety of MEP systems, including but not limited to lighting, power distribution, pumps, motors, fans, basic plumbing, and HVAC components.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues (e.g., replacing breakers, contactors, ballasts, wiring) up to a defined voltage level.
- Address basic plumbing repairs such as unclogging drains, fixing leaks, replacing taps, toilet fixtures, and pipework.
- Assist specialized technicians (HVAC, BMS) with larger repairs and system overhauls.
- Conduct routine building inspections and identify potential issues before they lead to failures.
- Respond to tenant or occupant requests, providing a first-line fix for a wide array of issues.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean, safe work environment.
- Document all maintenance activities in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
Qualifications & Skills:
- Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or a related trade.
- Minimum 4-6 years of hands-on experience in a multi-skilled maintenance role within commercial or industrial facilities.
- Strong foundational knowledge in two or more MEP trades (electrical & mechanical is typical).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
- Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
