Job Summary
Celestia Constructions LLC is seeking a highly competent and safety-focused Scaffolding Inspector / Supervisor to join our team for prestigious high-rise luxury residential projects in Dubai. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient management of all scaffolding activities. This includes supervising the erection, modification, and dismantling of scaffolding systems, conducting rigorous inspections, and ensuring strict adherence to HSE regulations and project method statements.
Key Responsibilities
Supervision & Execution:
- Supervise and coordinate scaffolding crews to ensure the timely and safe erection, alteration, and dismantling of temporary scaffolding structures.
- Interpret and implement approved method statements, risk assessments, and project drawings.
- Plan daily scaffolding activities, allocate resources effectively, and ensure material availability on-site.
- Liaise with site engineers, project managers, and other trade supervisors to coordinate scaffolding requirements with the overall construction schedule.
Inspection & Compliance:
- Conduct thorough inspections of scaffolding at all stages (prior to handover, after modification, and during periodic checks) to ensure structural integrity and compliance with safety standards.
- Tag and certify scaffolding as safe for use or identify hazards and prohibit access to unsafe structures.
- Ensure all scaffolding work complies with Dubai Municipality regulations, UAE HSE laws, and company safety policies.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date inspection registers, handover certificates, and daily activity logs.
Safety & Quality:
- Enforce the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safe work practices among all crew members.
- Identify potential hazards related to scaffolding activities (e.g., working at height, falling objects) and implement corrective and preventive measures.
- Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings to reinforce safe working procedures.
- Ensure all scaffolding materials are inspected upon delivery and stored properly to prevent damage or deterioration.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of proven experience in scaffolding supervision and inspection, specifically on large-scale or high-rise construction projects.
- Certification: Must hold a valid CISRS Scaffolding Inspector certification or an equivalent, recognized international certification (e.g., OSHA Scaffolding Competent Person, or an approved Dubai/Trade-specific certification).
- Technical Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of various scaffolding systems (tube & fitting, cuplock, ringlock, system scaffolding) and their application in high-rise construction.
- Standards: Thorough understanding of international and local safety standards (BS EN, OSHA, UAE Fire and Safety Code).
- Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and method statements.
- Language: Proficient in English (verbal and written); proficiency in Hindi/Urdu is an advantage for crew supervision.
- Drivers License: Valid UAE driving license is preferred.
