The Electrician Helper – Marine will assist marine electricians in installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems onboard vessels or marine facilities. The role requires physical fitness and the ability to work in confined marine environments.
- Assist in installation of marine electrical wiring and cabling systems.
- Support cable pulling, termination, and routing works.
- Help in installation of control panels and switchboards.
- Carry tools and materials to designated work areas onboard vessels.
- Clean and maintain electrical tools and equipment.
- Assist in testing and troubleshooting electrical systems.
- Follow marine safety standards and confined space procedures.
- Ensure proper labeling of cables and circuits.
- Support grounding and bonding system installation.
- Maintain cleanliness of electrical rooms and panels.
- Assist in repair of lighting systems and power outlets.
- Follow supervisor instructions during maintenance operations.
- Adhere to HSE and marine safety regulations.
- Report electrical hazards or damaged equipment immediately.
- Participate in safety drills and toolbox talks.
- Support documentation and material tracking if required.
- Work flexible hours depending on vessel schedule.
- Maintain proper use of PPE at all times.
- Assist in preventive maintenance activities.
- Ensure tasks are completed within given timelines.
