Shamaar Learning Center is seeking a compassionate, patient, and skilled Special Education Needs (SEN) Teacher to join our growing team in Dubai. The ideal candidate will be passionate about supporting children with diverse learning needs and committed to helping each child reach their full potential in a structured and nurturing environment.
Role Overview
The SEN Teacher will be responsible for planning and delivering individualized educational programs tailored to children with special needs. This includes working closely with students who may have learning disabilities, developmental delays, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), ADHD, speech and language challenges, or other behavioral and cognitive difficulties.
The role requires dedication, creativity, and the ability to adapt teaching strategies to suit individual learning styles.
Key Responsibilities
1. Individualized Education Planning
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) based on each child’s abilities and needs.
- Set measurable learning goals and track student progress regularly.
- Modify curriculum and teaching methods to accommodate different learning levels.
2. Classroom & Learning Support
- Deliver one-on-one and small group sessions.
- Use multisensory teaching techniques and structured learning approaches.
- Support students in developing academic, social, emotional, and behavioral skills.
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
3. Assessment & Reporting
- Conduct regular assessments to monitor academic and developmental progress.
- Maintain detailed student records and progress reports.
- Communicate progress and challenges effectively with parents and management.
4. Behavior Management & Emotional Support
- Implement positive behavior management strategies.
- Provide emotional support and encourage independence.
- Work patiently with children who require additional behavioral guidance.
5. Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with therapists, support staff, and parents.
- Participate in team meetings and case discussions.
- Provide guidance to parents on reinforcement strategies at home.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) in Special Education (mandatory).
- 1–2 years of experience working with children with special needs.
- Knowledge of IEP development and inclusive teaching practices.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Patient, empathetic, and nurturing personality.
- Ability to handle diverse learning and behavioral challenges.
Preferred Skills
- Experience working with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, or learning disabilities.
- Familiarity with behavioral intervention techniques.
- Ability to create engaging, adaptive learning materials.
- Strong classroom management skills.
