Role Overview
The Customer Service Executive – NVOCC will be responsible for handling end-to-end customer service operations related to NVOCC shipments, ensuring smooth coordination between clients, shipping lines, freight forwarders, and internal departments. The role requires strong communication skills, operational accuracy, and the ability to manage multiple shipments efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
1️⃣ Customer Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for NVOCC clients.
- Respond promptly to customer inquiries regarding bookings, rates, schedules, and shipment status.
- Maintain strong professional relationships with customers to ensure repeat business.
2️⃣ Booking & Documentation Management
- Process booking requests and coordinate space with shipping lines.
- Prepare and verify shipping documents including:
- Bill of Lading (BL)
- Delivery Orders (DO)
- Manifest submissions
- Invoices and debit/credit notes
- Ensure compliance with local and international shipping regulations.
3️⃣ Shipment Coordination
- Monitor shipment schedules and update clients on vessel movements.
- Coordinate with operations, documentation, and accounts departments.
- Follow up on cargo arrivals, transshipments, and delivery timelines.
4️⃣ Freight & Rate Coordination
- Coordinate freight rates with internal pricing teams.
- Provide quotations to customers as required.
- Support sales team with operational and customer service assistance.
5️⃣ Issue Resolution & Claims Handling
- Address shipment delays, discrepancies, or documentation issues.
- Coordinate with shipping lines and customers to resolve disputes.
- Assist in handling cargo claims and necessary documentation.
6️⃣ Reporting & Compliance
- Maintain accurate records of shipments and customer interactions.
- Prepare operational and service performance reports.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and UAE port regulations.
Requirements
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in Shipping & Logistics (mandatory).
- Prior experience in NVOCC operations is required.
- Strong knowledge of import/export documentation and procedures.
- Familiarity with UAE ports and customs regulations.
- Proficiency in MS Office and shipping/logistics software.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to handle multiple shipments and work under pressure.
