Architecture & Planning Group is seeking a highly experienced Senior Planning Engineer to join its growing site supervision team in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate will be responsible for project planning, scheduling, progress monitoring, and overall project control to ensure construction activities are completed on time and within budget.
The role requires extensive experience in managing project schedules for large-scale construction projects, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and providing strategic planning support to project management teams.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Scheduling
- Develop detailed project schedules and work breakdown structures (WBS) for construction projects.
- Prepare baseline schedules and ensure alignment with project milestones and contractual obligations.
- Establish project timelines, resource plans, and activity sequencing.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and contractors during schedule development.
Project Monitoring & Control
- Monitor project progress against the approved schedule and identify potential delays or risks.
- Analyze project performance and provide corrective actions to maintain timelines.
- Prepare progress reports, delay analysis, and recovery schedules when required.
- Track key project milestones and ensure timely completion of deliverables.
Coordination & Communication
- Work closely with site teams, contractors, consultants, and project stakeholders.
- Provide regular updates to senior management on project performance and schedule status.
- Participate in project meetings and present planning reports and forecasts.
Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare and maintain project planning documents, schedules, and reports.
- Monitor project resources including manpower, equipment, and materials.
- Ensure proper documentation of schedule updates, changes, and delays.
Risk Management
- Identify schedule risks and propose mitigation strategies.
- Perform delay analysis and assess the impact of project changes on schedules.
- Assist project teams in implementing recovery plans when required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- 15+ years of experience in project planning and scheduling, preferably in engineering consultancy firms.
- Strong experience with large-scale construction or infrastructure projects.
- Proven experience working in the UAE or GCC construction industry.
- Proficiency in project planning software such as Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
