The Senior Electrical Engineer will be responsible for supervising, reviewing, and coordinating all electrical engineering activities throughout the project lifecycle. The role requires extensive knowledge of power distribution systems, lighting, ELV systems, and compliance with UAE authority standards.
Key Responsibilities
Design Review & Technical Oversight
- Review electrical shop drawings, load calculations, and panel schedules
- Ensure compliance with ADDC/DEWA regulations and local authority codes
- Validate cable sizing, transformer specifications, and protection systems
- Coordinate with design consultants to resolve discrepancies
Site Supervision & Execution
- Monitor installation of power distribution systems, lighting systems, and ELV systems
- Supervise installation of MDBs, SMDBs, cable trays, containment systems
- Oversee earthing and lightning protection systems
- Ensure proper routing and termination of electrical cables
Testing & Commissioning
- Witness testing and commissioning of electrical systems
- Review testing reports and ensure compliance with specifications
- Oversee energization procedures and final inspections
Coordination & Project Support
- Coordinate with civil and mechanical teams to avoid clashes
- Participate in project coordination meetings
- Prepare detailed progress and technical reports
- Assist in cost control and technical evaluations
Health & Safety
- Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards
- Monitor lock-out/tag-out procedures
- Conduct risk assessments related to electrical installations
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
- 15+ years of experience in construction supervision
- Strong knowledge of UAE electrical codes and authority requirements
- Experience in large-scale residential, commercial, or mixed-use projects
- Strong analytical and leadership skills
