We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Civil Engineer to oversee and supervise all civil construction activities on-site. The candidate will play a critical role in ensuring structural integrity, quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and adherence to project timelines. The ideal candidate must possess strong technical expertise, site coordination skills, and the ability to manage contractors effectively.
Key Responsibilities
Technical & Site Supervision
- Supervise all civil and structural works including foundations, concrete works, structural frames, finishing works, and external works
- Review and interpret structural drawings, IFC drawings, and technical specifications
- Ensure construction activities comply with approved designs and authority regulations
- Monitor contractor performance and ensure adherence to project scope and quality standards
- Oversee site setting-out, levels, and structural alignment
Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Implement QA/QC procedures and conduct regular inspections
- Review and approve material submittals in coordination with the QA/QC team
- Identify non-conformances and ensure corrective actions are implemented
- Ensure compliance with Abu Dhabi Municipality and other regulatory authority standards
- Verify testing results (concrete cube tests, soil compaction tests, etc.)
Coordination & Reporting
- Coordinate with MEP teams to resolve design clashes and integration issues
- Attend technical meetings with contractors and consultants
- Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports
- Assist in reviewing variation orders and technical clarifications
- Support the Project Manager in resolving technical disputes
Safety & Risk Management
- Ensure all civil works comply with HSE standards
- Identify potential construction risks and recommend mitigation measures
- Conduct toolbox talks when necessary
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
- Minimum 15+ years of experience in construction supervision
- Strong knowledge of structural engineering and finishing works
- Experience in high-rise buildings, commercial developments, or large-scale projects
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and project management software
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
