π§Ύ Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor (QS) to manage cost, contracts, and commercial aspects of fabrication and MEP projects. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in budgeting, measurement, billing, and contract administration within construction or fabrication environments.
π Key Responsibilities
π° Cost & Commercial Management
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, BOQs, and project budgets
- Monitor project costs, cash flow, and cost-to-complete forecasts
- Track material, labor, and fabrication costs against approved budgets
- Support value engineering and cost optimization initiatives
π Measurement & Billing
- Prepare and submit interim payment certificates (IPC) and final accounts
- Measure site and fabrication works as per approved drawings
- Verify subcontractor measurements, invoices, and claims
- Reconcile quantities between BOQ, drawings, and site execution
π Contracts & Variations
- Administer subcontract agreements and purchase orders
- Identify, evaluate, and price variations, change orders, and claims
- Prepare variation submissions and negotiate with clients/consultants
- Maintain proper records of contractual correspondence and approvals
π€ Subcontractor & Supplier Management
- Support subcontractor tendering, evaluation, and negotiations
- Certify subcontractor payments based on progress and contract terms
- Monitor advances, recoveries, retention, and final settlements
π Project Coordination & Reporting
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and planning teams
- Prepare monthly commercial reports, cost variance reports, and dashboards
- Support project close-out, final accounts, and audit requirements
π― Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelorβs Degree in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- 6β12 years of relevant experience in contracting and/or fabrication projects
- GCC experience preferred (UAE experience is an advantage)
π» Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of Fabrication & MEP systems
- Experience in BOQs, quantity take-offs, and measurements
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Excel, and commercial tracking tools
- Good understanding of contract conditions, measurement standards, and billing procedures
