Job Title: Steward
Job Summary
The Steward is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen, dishwashing area, and dining support areas. The role ensures proper sanitation of utensils, equipment, and workspaces to support smooth food service operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Wash dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment properly.
- Ensure cleanliness of kitchen areas, dishwashing stations, and storage spaces.
- Assist in basic kitchen tasks such as cleaning vegetables or organizing supplies.
- Properly dispose of waste and maintain hygiene standards.
- Ensure all cleaning chemicals are used safely and correctly.
- Support chefs and kitchen staff with non-cooking duties when required.
- Arrange clean utensils and equipment in proper storage areas.
- Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines strictly.
- Report any broken or damaged kitchen equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness of dining support areas (if assigned).
Qualifications & Requirements
- No formal education required (high school preferred).
- Previous experience in hospitality or kitchen cleaning (preferred but not mandatory).
- Basic understanding of hygiene and sanitation practices.
- Physically fit and able to stand for long hours.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
