Job Title: Senior Power Engineer / High Voltage (HV) Engineer
Job Summary
The Senior Power Engineer / HV Engineer is responsible for the design, analysis, operation, and maintenance of high-voltage electrical systems. This role ensures the reliability, safety, and efficiency of power systems, including transmission, distribution, and substations. The engineer will lead projects, provide technical expertise, and support system performance improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and review high-voltage systems (typically 11kV–400kV and above)
- Perform load flow, short-circuit, and protection coordination studies
- Develop and review single-line diagrams, schematics, and layout drawings
- Lead substation design, including transformers, switchgear, and protection systems
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards (IEC, IEEE, local grid codes)
- Conduct site inspections, testing, and commissioning of HV equipment
- Analyze system faults and implement corrective actions
- Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and project teams
- Coordinate with utilities, contractors, and stakeholders
- Prepare technical reports, specifications, and documentation
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred)
- 7–15+ years of experience in power systems or high-voltage engineering
- Strong knowledge of transmission and distribution systems
- Experience with HV equipment such as transformers, circuit breakers, and GIS/AIS substations
- Familiarity with power system software (e.g., ETAP, DIgSILENT, PSCAD)
- Understanding of protection relays and SCADA systems
