Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and safety-conscious Heavy Machine Operator to join our construction team in Malta. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating a variety of heavy construction machinery, ensuring equipment is used safely and efficiently to support construction projects. The role requires adherence to safety regulations, equipment maintenance, and teamwork to complete projects on schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery, including excavators, bulldozers, loaders, and other construction equipment.
- Follow all safety procedures, regulations, and company policies at all times.
- Perform daily inspections and routine maintenance checks on assigned equipment.
- Report equipment malfunctions, defects, or safety hazards promptly.
- Read and interpret construction plans, site drawings, and blueprints.
- Work closely with supervisors and construction teams to ensure projects are completed on time.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Complete daily operational logs, inspection reports, and maintenance records.
- Ensure machinery is operated efficiently while minimizing downtime.
- Assist with general site operations when required.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience operating heavy construction machinery.
- Valid Heavy Equipment Operator Licence.
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
- Good command of English (spoken and written).
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and blueprints.
- Strong understanding of workplace health and safety regulations.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Physically fit and capable of working in various weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe operations.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime when required.
- Candidates must hold a valid Pre-Departure Course Certificate (Skills Pass).
