Job Summary
The Site Helper is responsible for providing general support to construction site operations by assisting skilled workers, handling materials, maintaining site cleanliness, and supporting daily construction activities. The role ensures smooth workflow by performing basic tasks while following site safety procedures, quality requirements, and instructions from supervisors.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist supervisors, technicians, tradesmen, and construction workers with daily site activities.
- Load, unload, transport, and arrange construction materials, tools, and equipment.
- Support various site works including civil, mechanical, electrical, aluminium, fabrication, and finishing activities.
- Prepare and move materials required for ongoing construction activities.
- Assist skilled workers during installation, repair, and maintenance works.
- Perform basic tasks such as cleaning, digging, lifting, carrying, mixing, and material preparation as required.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, access routes, and storage areas.
- Assist with site setup, dismantling, and housekeeping activities.
- Help with collection, segregation, and disposal of construction waste.
- Protect completed works and materials from damage during construction activities.
- Follow instructions from supervisors and complete assigned tasks efficiently.
- Assist in moving tools, equipment, scaffolding materials, and site supplies.
- Support loading and unloading activities during material deliveries.
- Follow all site safety rules, procedures, and permit requirements.
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Report unsafe conditions, damaged equipment, or hazards to supervisors.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum education: Basic education or equivalent.
- Previous experience in construction, maintenance, manufacturing, or site support work is preferred.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in a construction environment.
- Willingness to learn and support different trades.
Technical Skills
- Basic understanding of construction site activities.
- Ability to safely use basic hand tools.
- Knowledge of material handling and storage practices.
- Ability to follow safety instructions and supervisor directions.
- Basic awareness of construction site hazards and safety procedures.
