Joinery Supervisor | Job Description (Fit-Out / Interior / Fabrication Industry)
A Joinery Supervisor is responsible for supervising the production and installation of wooden joinery works such as doors, cabinets, wardrobes, kitchens, furniture, wall paneling, and interior wood finishes in workshop and site environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily joinery fabrication and installation activities in workshop and on-site.
- Allocate work to carpenters, machine operators, and helpers.
- Interpret and execute shop drawings, joinery details, and BOQs.
- Ensure accurate cutting, assembly, finishing, and polishing of wooden products.
- Monitor quality of materials like plywood, MDF, veneer, solid wood, laminates, etc.
- Coordinate with design, project, and site teams for smooth execution.
- Ensure all works are completed as per drawings, specifications, and client requirements.
- Check measurements, alignment, and finishing quality before delivery/installation.
- Maintain production progress reports and daily work updates.
- Ensure proper usage of tools, machines, and materials to minimize wastage.
- Enforce safety standards in workshop and site.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of joinery manufacturing and installation techniques.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings and cutting lists.
- Experience with woodworking machines (CNC, edge banding, panel saw, etc.).
- Knowledge of finishing techniques (lamination, polishing, veneer work).
- Leadership and manpower management skills.
- Basic understanding of quality control and site coordination.
Typical Qualifications
- ITI / Diploma in:
- Carpentry / Wood Technology
- Mechanical Engineering (optional)
- Interior Fit-Out / Construction-related fields
Experience
- Usually 5–10 years of experience in:
- Joinery workshop supervision
- Interior fit-out projects
- Furniture manufacturing or installation works
