Senior Accountant
Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to manage day-to-day accounting activities, financial reporting, reconciliations, and statutory compliance. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and experience with accounting software and ERP systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily accounting transactions and maintain accurate financial records.
- Prepare and review journal entries, ledgers, invoices, receipts, and payment records.
- Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
- Perform regular bank, supplier, customer, and ledger reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Monitor receivables, payables, outstanding balances, and cash flow.
- Prepare and analyze accounting reports, MIS, and financial statements.
- Ensure proper accounting of expenses, income, assets, liabilities, and provisions.
- Coordinate with auditors and provide required financial documents and schedules.
- Assist with internal and external audits.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax requirements, and company policies.
- Support preparation and submission of statutory returns and documentation as applicable.
- Monitor fixed assets and maintain accurate asset registers.
- Review accounting entries and supporting documents for accuracy and completeness.
- Identify accounting discrepancies and take corrective action.
- Coordinate with other departments regarding financial transactions and documentation.
- Maintain proper filing and confidentiality of financial records.
- Assist management with financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and cost-control activities.
- Guide and support junior accounting staff when required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
- 4–7 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Experience with Tally, SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, or other ERP/accounting software.
- Advanced working knowledge of MS Excel.
- Knowledge of applicable tax and statutory requirements.
- Strong reconciliation and analytical skills.
- Good understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and financial closing processes.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet reporting deadlines.

Preferred
- Professional qualification such as CA, CMA, ACCA, or equivalent is an advantage.
