Job Description: Electrician
Job Summary
The Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment. The role requires safe and accurate execution of electrical works according to drawings, specifications, and company safety procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out electrical installation, maintenance, and repair works at the assigned site.
- Install conduits, cables, wiring, switches, sockets, lighting fixtures, and electrical accessories.
- Install and connect distribution boards, panels, isolators, breakers, and other electrical equipment.
- Perform cable laying, termination, jointing, and connection works as required.
- Carry out electrical testing and identify faults using appropriate testing instruments.
- Troubleshoot electrical faults and rectify problems safely and efficiently.
- Perform earthing and grounding works as per project requirements.
- Read and follow electrical drawings, layouts, and work instructions.
- Inspect electrical installations to ensure proper connections and workmanship.
- Assist in testing, commissioning, and handover of electrical systems.
- Maintain electrical tools, equipment, and testing instruments in good working condition.
- Report material shortages, damaged equipment, technical problems, and unsafe conditions to the Charge-Hand or Foreman.
- Follow electrical safety procedures, permit-to-work requirements, and company standards.
- Use appropriate PPE and ensure safe isolation before carrying out electrical work.
- Maintain good housekeeping in the work area.
- Coordinate with plumbers, civil workers, HVAC technicians, and other trades to avoid work conflicts.
- Complete assigned work within the planned schedule and quality standards.
- Perform other electrical duties assigned by the supervisor.

Required Qualifications
- ITI / Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.
- 2–5 years of relevant electrical experience preferred.
- Experience in construction, building projects, MEP works, industrial facilities, or maintenance is an advantage.
- Knowledge of electrical safety standards and basic electrical testing procedures.
