Job Description: Plumber
Job Summary
The Plumber is responsible for installing, maintaining, testing, repairing, and troubleshooting plumbing and sanitary systems. The role involves executing plumbing works according to approved drawings, project specifications, quality standards, and safety procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out plumbing installation and maintenance works at the assigned site.
- Install water-supply, drainage, sewerage, and sanitary piping systems.
- Install and connect pipes, valves, fittings, pumps, tanks, and related plumbing components.
- Install sanitary fixtures such as wash basins, toilets, sinks, showers, faucets, and other fittings.
- Perform pipe cutting, threading, bending, joining, and fitting as required.
- Conduct pressure tests, leakage tests, and other required plumbing tests.
- Identify and repair leaks, blockages, damaged pipes, faulty valves, and other plumbing issues.
- Read and follow plumbing drawings, layouts, and site instructions.
- Ensure proper slope, alignment, levels, and support of drainage and water-supply pipes.
- Assist in installation and connection of hot- and cold-water systems where applicable.
- Inspect completed plumbing work to ensure proper workmanship and quality.
- Assist with testing, commissioning, and handover of plumbing systems.
- Maintain plumbing tools, equipment, and materials in good working condition.
- Report material shortages, damaged items, technical problems, and unsafe conditions to the Charge-Hand or Foreman.
- Coordinate with electricians, civil workers, HVAC technicians, and other trades to avoid work conflicts.
- Follow site safety procedures and use appropriate PPE.
- Maintain proper housekeeping and cleanliness in the work area.
- Complete assigned work within the required schedule and quality standards.
- Perform other plumbing-related duties assigned by the supervisor.

Required Qualifications
- ITI / vocational qualification in Plumbing or equivalent technical training preferred.
- 2–5 years of relevant plumbing experience preferred.
- Experience in construction, building projects, MEP works, or facility maintenance is an advantage.
- Basic ability to understand plumbing drawings and site instructions.
