Job Description: Charge-Hand – Electrical & Plumbing
Job Summary
The Charge-Hand – Electrical & Plumbing is responsible for supervising electricians, plumbers, and helpers and ensuring that assigned electrical and plumbing works are completed safely, correctly, and on schedule. The role involves coordinating daily activities, checking workmanship, managing materials and tools, and supporting the Foreman or Site Engineer in site execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily electrical and plumbing activities at the site.
- Assign work to electricians, plumbers, and helpers according to the daily work plan.
- Ensure work is carried out as per approved drawings, instructions, and specifications.
- Read and understand basic electrical, plumbing, and MEP drawings.
- Supervise electrical installation works such as conduits, wiring, cable laying, switches, sockets, lighting, panels, and earthing.
- Supervise plumbing works including water-supply lines, drainage, sanitary fittings, pipes, valves, and related installations.
- Monitor workers' productivity and ensure proper utilization of manpower.
- Check the quality of completed work and identify defects or rework requirements.
- Coordinate with the Foreman and other trades to avoid delays and clashes.
- Ensure availability of required materials, tools, and equipment for daily activities.
- Report material shortages, damaged items, technical issues, and work delays to the Foreman.
- Assist in testing and inspection of electrical and plumbing installations.
- Ensure workers follow safety procedures and use appropriate PPE.
- Maintain good housekeeping and safe working conditions at the site.
- Maintain daily records of manpower, work progress, materials, and completed activities.
- Support the Foreman during inspections, testing, commissioning, and handover.
- Perform hands-on electrical or plumbing work when required.
- Carry out other duties assigned by the Foreman, Site Engineer, or Project Manager.

Required Qualifications
- ITI / Diploma in Electrical, Plumbing, or a related technical trade preferred.
- 3–7 years of relevant experience in electrical and plumbing works.
- Experience in construction, building projects, MEP works, or facility maintenance preferred.
- Ability to understand basic technical drawings and site instructions.
