Job Summary:
The Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, testing, and repairing electrical systems, fixtures, and equipment in compliance with national and local electrical codes. This role ensures a safe, reliable, and efficient power supply throughout the facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair wiring, electrical distribution panels, switchgear, circuit breakers, lighting systems, and power outlets.
- Perform troubleshooting and fault-finding on electrical circuits using appropriate testing devices (multimeters, clamp meters, insulation testers).
- Conduct preventive maintenance on electrical equipment, including thermal imaging, tightening connections, and lubrication of motors.
- Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and single-line diagrams.
- Respond to electrical emergencies such as power failures, tripped breakers, or faulty equipment.
- Ensure all work is performed in strict adherence to safety regulations (e.g., NFPA 70E, PPE use, Lockout-Tagout procedures).
- Collaborate with other departments for new installations, tenant fit-outs, or equipment upgrades.
- Maintain inventory of electrical parts and tools.
Qualifications & Skills:
- High School Diploma; completion of a recognized electrical apprenticeship program.
- Valid Journeyman or Master Electrician license as required by local/state regulations.
- 5+ years of experience in commercial or industrial electrical work.
- Thorough knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local codes.
- Strong focus on safety and quality of workmanship.
