Construction Manager
Location: Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
Sector: Water & Wastewater Infrastructure
Job Purpose:
To lead and manage all on-site construction operations, ensuring the project is built safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The Construction Manager is responsible for translating engineering designs into reality, managing contractor resources, and driving progress across all construction fronts .
Key Responsibilities:
- Construction Execution: Manage the development and implementation of construction plans, schedules, and methodologies. Oversee all site activities, including earthworks, concrete works, mechanical installation, and pipeline laying .
- Health, Safety & Environment (HSE): Champion a strong safety culture, ensuring all site activities adhere to project HSE plans and safe systems of work. Conduct regular safety inspections and audits .
- Quality Control: Manage the inspection and testing of all materials and works, ensuring compliance with project specifications and quality standards. Collaborate with the QA/QC team to implement improvements .
- Resource & Progress Management: Assign work to subcontractors and oversee their performance. Monitor construction progress against the master schedule, identify potential delays, and implement corrective actions. Prepare progress reports .
- Stakeholder Coordination: Liaise with the client, resident engineer, design team, and external stakeholders (e.g., local authorities, civil defense) to ensure smooth and coordinated project delivery .
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering, or a related construction field .
- Experience: Minimum of 15 years of experience on construction projects, with a specific focus on the delivery of Wastewater Treatment Plants (WWTP) and large-scale infrastructure. Experience with Design & Build contracts is highly advantageous .
- Certification: Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent is a plus .
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of local regulations, building codes, and engineering standards. Proven ability to manage large, complex projects with values exceeding $50M .
- Soft Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Target-driven and capable of working effectively under pressure
