Job Title: Geotechnical Engineer
Location: Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
Project Type: Large Diameter Pipe Laying, Deep Pumping Stations, and Reservoir Foundations.
Job Summary:
We are looking for a Geotechnical Engineer to manage all subsurface aspects of the project. You will be responsible for interpreting site investigation data and providing solutions for foundation design, earthworks, and excavation support to ensure the long-term stability of the infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Site Investigation: Supervise geotechnical site investigations (boring, SPT, sampling) and geophysical surveys along pipeline routes and at plant sites.
- Analysis & Design: Analyze soil mechanics and rock mechanics data to determine bearing capacity, settlement, and earth pressure. Provide recommendations for foundation types (shallow vs. deep), slope stability, and shoring systems.
- Technical Support: Assist the civil design team with parameters for dewatering system design and soil improvement techniques (e.g., dynamic compaction, vibroflotation).
- Construction Support: Inspect foundation excavations to verify that bearing strata match geotechnical reports. Monitor the installation of piles and conduct pile load tests.
- Reporting: Prepare comprehensive geotechnical interpretative reports and technical specifications for tender documents.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s in Geotechnical Engineering or Civil Engineering with geotechnical specialization.
- Experience: 8-12 years of experience, specifically on infrastructure or heavy civil projects.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in GeoStudio, PLAXIS 2D/3D, or similar FEA software. Knowledge of international codes (Eurocode 7, AASHTO).
- Soft Skills: Ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment and provide quick, practical solutions to site challenges.
