Job Title: Site Inspector (Civil / Mechanical / Electrical)

Job Purpose:
To perform daily site inspections, ensuring that all construction activities related to Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical disciplines comply with approved drawings, project specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations. The Inspector acts as the "eyes and ears" of the client or PMC on-site.
Key Responsibilities (General across disciplines):
- Inspection & Quality: Conduct regular and ad-hoc inspections of ongoing works. Review Inspection Requests (IRs) from contractors and take appropriate action.
- Compliance: Verify that all materials, workmanship, and installation methods conform to the approved shop drawings, method statements, and project specifications.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed daily site reports, progress photos, and inspection logs. Record all non-conformances and issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) when necessary, tracking them to closure.
- Testing & Commissioning: Witness on-site testing (e.g., pressure testing of pipelines, hydrostatic testing, loop checks) and assist in commissioning activities as per the approved Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
- Coordination: Coordinate with the contractor's supervision team and other discipline inspectors to resolve technical interface issues on site.
- Safety: Monitor site safety practices and report any unsafe acts or conditions to the Safety Officer.
Discipline-Specific Responsibilities:
- Civil Inspector: Focus on earthworks, concrete structures (reservoirs, pump stations), pipe laying, backfilling, and reinstatement works.
- Mechanical Inspector: Focus on installation of pumps, valves, blowers, diffusers, HVAC, and mechanical equipment in pumping stations and treatment plants. Experience with piping systems (DI, HDPE, GRP, Steel) is essential.
- Electrical Inspector: Focus on LV/MV cabling, switchgear, transformers, lighting, grounding, and control systems. Witnessing electrical testing (insulation, continuity) and supporting SCADA integration.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in the relevant engineering discipline (Civil/Mechanical/Electrical). A Diploma with significant additional experience may be considered.
- Experience:
- Junior Inspector: 3–5 years.
- Senior Inspector: 7–12+ years.
- Experience must be in construction supervision of infrastructure or water/wastewater projects in KSA.
- Certifications: Professional Registration in the Saudi Council of Engineers is mandatory. Specific certifications (e.g., Welding Inspection for Mech, NFPA for Elec) are highly preferred.
