Site Engineer
Reports To: Project Manager
Direct Reports: Quantity Surveyor, Land Surveyor, Foremen, Operators, and Workers
Job Purpose
The Site Engineer is responsible for coordinating and supervising all site activities under the direction of the Project Manager/Project Engineer. The role ensures that construction works are executed efficiently, safely, and in accordance with project plans, specifications, and timelines.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensure smooth operation of site activities at all times.
- Coordinate site operations under the direction of the Project / Asphalt Operations / Facilities Manager while liaising with client stakeholders, consultants, and project team members.
- Monitor the progress of work in line with the project schedule.
- Assist in preparing work schedules and procurement enquiries for materials and subcontractors.
- Supervise daily site activities and workforce operations.
- Manage plant, materials, and labour requirements at the site.
- Assist in executing projects according to the planned construction programme.
- Monitor daily production activities and maintain accurate records.
- Control and monitor material stock levels and perform material reconciliations.
- Maintain a clear understanding of contract documents, codes, standards, and specifications.
- Assist in preparing daily site reports and monthly progress reports.
- Maintain Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) records.
- Implement waste management procedures according to the company's quality, safety, and environmental standards.
- Assist in the preparation and implementation of the Quality, Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (QHSSE) Management Plan.
- Ensure compliance with statutory, contractual, and company requirements related to QHSSE.
- Work with the Safety Officer to identify workplace hazards and implement risk control measures.
- Maintain and update the Site Safety File.
- Stay updated with industry developments and competitor activities relevant to the role.
- Perform other site-related responsibilities as assigned by the Project / Asphalt Operations / Facilities Manager.
- Maintain effective coordination and working relationships with other departments.
