Job Summary:
The Medical Secretary provides administrative and clerical support to medical professionals and healthcare departments. This role ensures smooth operations, accurate record-keeping, and efficient communication between patients, staff, and healthcare providers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage appointment scheduling and maintain doctors’ calendars
- Greet patients and handle inquiries in person, via phone, or email
- Prepare, organize, and maintain patient medical records and confidential files
- Assist in preparing medical reports, correspondence, and referral letters
- Coordinate with healthcare providers, laboratories, and insurance companies
- Handle billing, insurance claims, and patient registration processes (if required)
- Ensure confidentiality and security of patient information according to regulations
- Support physicians and healthcare staff with documentation and administrative tasks
- Maintain office supplies and equipment for the medical department
- Perform other administrative duties as assigned
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree (Medical Administration or Healthcare preferred)
- Minimum 2–4 years of experience in a medical secretary or healthcare administrative role
- Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare procedures
- Proficiency in MS Office and healthcare software (EMR/EHR systems preferred)
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Fluent in English; Arabic is an advantage
