Job Title: Draughtsman
Job Summary:
The Draughtsman is responsible for preparing detailed technical drawings and plans based on designs provided by engineers or architects. These drawings serve as a guide for construction, manufacturing, or fabrication and must comply with project specifications, standards, and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drawing & Drafting:Prepare accurate 2D and 3D technical drawings using AutoCAD, Revit, or other CAD software.
- Convert rough sketches, concepts, and design briefs from engineers or architects into precise drawings.
- Update and revise drawings as per design changes or client requirements.
- Design Support:Collaborate with engineers, architects, and project teams to understand project requirements.
- Assist in design calculations and specifications as needed.
- Ensure drawings comply with local codes, standards, and project specifications.
- Documentation & Records:Maintain organized records of drawings, revisions, and project documents.
- Prepare drawings for approvals, permits, and construction/fabrication use.
- Support project documentation and reporting processes.
- Coordination & Communication:Liaise with engineers, architects, and contractors to resolve design-related queries.
- Ensure smooth flow of drawings to the construction or fabrication team.
- Provide clarifications and technical support regarding drawings on-site if required.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- Proven experience as a Draughtsman in construction, mechanical, electrical, or architectural projects.
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, or similar).
- Knowledge of drawing standards, symbols, and conventions.
