Job Description: Pharmacist
Overview:
A Pharmacist is a licensed healthcare professional responsible for dispensing medications, ensuring their safe use, and advising patients on proper drug usage. (Note: The role is not gender-specific—“male pharmacist” and “female pharmacist” have the same responsibilities.)
Key Responsibilities
- Dispense prescription medications accurately
- Review prescriptions for errors, interactions, and dosage accuracy
- Provide guidance to patients on medication usage, side effects, and storage
- Maintain patient records and confidentiality
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
- Manage inventory and ensure proper storage of medicines
- Coordinate with doctors and healthcare professionals
- Handle over-the-counter (OTC) medication queries
- Supervise pharmacy assistants and support staff

Educational Requirements
- Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm) or Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm)
