A Mechanical Inspector is responsible for inspecting mechanical systems, equipment, and installations to ensure they meet design specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations. The role is critical in maintaining reliability and compliance in construction, manufacturing, and industrial projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect mechanical equipment, systems, and installations (HVAC, piping, machinery, etc.)
- Verify compliance with project specifications, drawings, and industry standards
- Review mechanical drawings, layouts, and technical documents
- Identify defects, deviations, or safety issues and recommend corrective actions
- Monitor installation, testing, and commissioning activities
- Conduct quality control checks at different project stages
- Prepare inspection reports and maintain documentation records
- Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and QA/QC teams
- Ensure adherence to safety procedures and regulations
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and equipment
- Familiarity with codes and standards (e.g., ASME, API, ISO)
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and P&IDs
- Attention to detail and strong observational skills

- Good communication and reporting abilities
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Relevant certifications (e.g., QA/QC, NDT—depending on industry)
- Experience in inspection, maintenance, or mechanical installation
