Job Title: Technician – Repair (Automotive)
Job Summary
The Repair Technician is responsible for carrying out routine maintenance and repair work on vehicles as per job orders. The role involves diagnosing basic issues, performing mechanical and electrical repairs, and ensuring vehicles are serviced efficiently and safely to meet dealership standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance services such as oil changes, brake service, filter replacement, and inspections.
- Carry out mechanical and basic electrical repairs on vehicles.
- Follow job cards and instructions provided by the Service Advisor or Diagnostic Technician.
- Assist in identifying faults and support diagnostic processes when required.
- Use workshop tools, equipment, and manuals correctly.
- Ensure all repairs are completed within the allocated time.
- Conduct quality checks and road tests (if required) before vehicle delivery.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area.
- Adhere to safety standards and dealership procedures.
- Update job status and report additional repair requirements.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an automotive technician or repair technician in a workshop or dealership.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle systems (engine, suspension, brakes, electricals).
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and workshop equipment.
- Understanding of repair manuals and service procedures.
- Physical stamina and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- ITI / Diploma in Automobile, Mechanical, or related field.
- Experience in an authorized dealership or service center.
- Basic knowledge of diagnostic tools (added advantage).
