Job Title: School Psychologist
Job Summary:
The School Psychologist supports students’ academic achievement, emotional well-being, and social development. This role involves assessing student needs, providing counseling services, and collaborating with teachers, parents, and administrators to create a supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychological assessments and evaluations of students’ learning, behavior, and emotional needs
- Provide individual and group counseling to students
- Develop and implement intervention strategies for academic and behavioral challenges
- Support students with special educational needs and disabilities
- Collaborate with teachers to develop effective classroom strategies
- Participate in the development of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) or support plans
- Provide crisis intervention and support during emergencies
- Offer guidance to parents regarding student development and mental health
- Conduct workshops and awareness programs on mental health and well-being
- Maintain confidential student records and documentation
- Work with external professionals or agencies when necessary
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Psychology, School Psychology, or a related field
- Relevant certification or license as required by local regulations
- Strong knowledge of child and adolescent development
- Excellent counseling and assessment skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle sensitive situations with confidentiality and professionalism
- Problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience working in a school setting
- Training in special education or behavioral therapy techniques
- Familiarity with assessment tools and intervention programs
Working Conditions:
