Job Title: Fabricator / Welder
Job Summary
The Fabricator/Welder is responsible for cutting, shaping, assembling, and welding metal components used in vehicle structures, body repairs, or custom fabrication. This role ensures strong, precise, and high-quality metal work in accordance with workshop or dealership standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform welding operations (MIG, TIG, Arc welding) on metal parts and structures.
- Cut, bend, and shape metal components using appropriate tools and machinery.
- Repair damaged vehicle frames, panels, and structural components.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and job specifications.
- Ensure proper alignment and fitting of fabricated parts.
- Inspect welds for strength, accuracy, and quality.
- Maintain welding equipment and tools in good working condition.
- Follow safety standards, including use of PPE and proper handling of materials.
- Coordinate with body shop technicians, painters, and supervisors.
- Complete work within assigned timelines and quality standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Fabricator/Welder in automotive, construction, or manufacturing.
- Hands-on experience with welding techniques (MIG, TIG, Arc).
- Ability to use fabrication tools such as grinders, cutters, and drilling machines.
- Knowledge of metal properties and fabrication processes.
- Ability to read technical drawings and measurements accurately.
- Good physical stamina and manual dexterity.
Preferred Qualifications
- ITI / Diploma in Welding, Fabrication, Mechanical, or related field.
- Certification in welding (preferred).
- Experience in automobile body shop or heavy vehicle repair.
